“The vision of PharmaLedger is to help establish a backbone for the Pharmaceutical Supply Chain digital twin, providing robust, secure, and compliant connectivity with the entire healthcare value chain, including regulators for product release and connectivity to distributors all the way to clinics and patients. In time, this blockchain based ecosystem will provide trusted, secure information at the point of dispensing, validate the provenance of the product, ease transportation and distribution to the clinic and provide vital patient information, enabling the visibility, security, and traceability of a more resilient global healthcare supply chain"




Brian M. Thornley leads the global supply strategy from plant to patient. He oversees Merck’s digital supply chain strategy including blockchain enabled pharma, organization development and enterprise segmentation to optimize service, cost, earnings and return on capital employed. Previously he acted AVP Supply Chain Operations EMEA & AP, including Planning and Strategy for Merck MSD, developing the strategic approach to deliver internal efficiencies and external transformation of the supply chain from factories to end customer.

Dan served as the Industry Project Leader for the PharmaLedger Project. He was with Novartis for over 20 years in global supply chain, manufacturing operations and systems architecture in Switzerland and Germany. He has more than 30 years of leadership and supply chain IT experience in the US Army, financial, and pharmaceutical industries. He holds a B.S. in Engineering Management from the United States Military Academy at West Point and an MBA from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business and is certified by ASCM in CPIM, CSCP and SCOR.

Sarah is a Supply Chain professional at GSK, leading Artwork , Packaging & Serialisation Services. She has 20+ years’ experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry spanning Manufacturing, SC, Tech and Finance. Strong expertise in business transformation supported by technology and optimized operating models including outsourced services. Her passion is leading teams to provide excellent service performance, generating and executing strategic plans to benefit patients.
