PharmaLedger is governed by the people who use it. Every member organization holds equal weight in the architecture decisions, the roadmap, and the bylaws — because a trust fabric only works if no single party owns it.
We exist to give healthcare a neutral, open, member-governed trust layer for product information — one designed to connect, not to replace, the infrastructure already in place. Patient safety, regulatory integrity, and member sovereignty come before any single firm’s commercial interest.
The work began as an EU IMI consortium of 29 partners — 12 global pharma plus 17 public and private organizations. From global manufacturers to technology providers, research institutes and patient groups, every member governs their own data and shares verified trust with everyone else.
A Board of Directors appointed by the members, with a chair and vice-chair elected from its number. The Executive Director is the officer running day-to-day operations. Decisions follow one organization, one vote — and product committees and working groups (such as the AstraTrace Committee) steer each part of the roadmap.

There are no published tiers or fees — any organization with a vested interest in healthcare should join. Members pool resources to build and run qualified, fully-tested solutions, and every member gets one vote: governance is one-org, one-vote regardless of size.
