Supply chain tools tell you where a shipment was. They don't tell you where a shortage is forming.

Why Alberta Health creates a unique proof point
Alberta Health Services operates one of the few provincial health systems in the world with centralised pharmaceutical purchasing and distribution. This creates a structural opportunity that is unusual globally: a single health authority with visibility into the complete downstream movement of pharmaceutical products across an entire province.
When manufacturer-side EPCIS data and the health authority's operational data connect on the same infrastructure, shortage signals become visible at the network level — upstream and downstream simultaneously.
